Self Portrait circa 2011.

Gemma (me!) is a professional photographer who fell in love with history. Whilst completing her Bachelor of Arts majoring in Medieval and Early Modern Europe, the pandemic hit. With more time to study, Gemma completed the Diploma of Library and Information Systems, as a sort of practical application to her History major. She is also completing a Diploma of Family History at the University of Tasmania, and has embarked on her Master of Arts, of course, majoring in History. In 2023, I commenced a new chapter as a Genealogical Researcher, a working historian of sorts.

Whilst working, I’m still a photographer, a florist, and a creative. I can often be found drifting off into other worlds in a good book. Photography may be slowing down a little due to injury, however I have creative ideas swimming in my head, and hope to create art in different ways. A floral project is in the pipe-works, aspiring to create wall art that’s a little different.
